B.E. Campbell has capped off a very successful year by being judged “Best Meat Supplier” to Woolworths Supermarkets in their 2011 Annual Awards.
Judging is based on overall standards of excellence including; service, delivery, product range
and quality.
B.E. Campbell has always strived to deliver these standards of excellence, and it is very gratifying to achieve independent recognition for both management and our dedicated, talented employees.
In line with our vision to stay ahead of market trends, this year saw the highly successful launch of the “Bruemar”, easy to prepare, range of meat products into Woolworths supermarkets. We’re looking forward to continued levels of growth for this exciting brand as new products are added to the range.

Jobs saved as NSW Government helps secure
sale of Young abattoir.
With the help of the NSW Government, BE Campbell has finalised the purchase of the Burrangong Abattoir in Young. BE Campbell is an Australian owned business with over 40 years experience in the meat industry. According to the Minister for State and Regional Development, Ian MacDonald, the acquisition will create up to 400 local jobs.
Mr MacDonald said the abattoir’s former operator, Burrangong Meat Processors Pty Ltd, had been placed in receivership in February 2010, putting the business and its jobs in jeopardy.
The NSW Government helped bring about this excellent result by working closely with the company’s receiver PPB Pty Ltd and by providing an assistance package to the BE Campbell Group through Industry and Investment NSW.
The Minister thanked Industry and Investment NSW for its assistance from the Regional Business Development Scheme, and also thanked Young Shire Council members for their crucial efforts in helping bring about this very positive outcome, saying; “This is terrific news for the families who rely on the abattoir for their livelihoods, as well as the local economy and businesses who rely on their spending.”
Following the refurbishment of its fire safety controls and supporting infrastructure, BE Campbell expects to re-open the Young abattoir in 2011 with 88 jobs, growing to 400 jobs in the 5th year of operation. The Minister said the BE Campbell Group is a diverse food supply business with experience in most aspects of the meat industry, including the preparation, packaging and delivery of meat products, with the addition of an abattoir completing the circle.
The company has developed many overseas markets as well as growing a very strong domestic customer base, including major supermarkets, smallgoods manufacturers and food service companies.
A new entity to be created be the BE Campbell Group, “Young Abattoir Pty Ltd”, will contribute significant resources to capital works to refurbish the local abattoir, making the substantial number of new jobs for the region possible.

One of Australia’s largest family owned meat wholesalers, B.E. Campbell, announces the launch of a new premium range of Australian bred pork called “Bruemar”.
The name “Bruemar” has its roots in the fertile soil of the Southern slopes of New South Wales, where the Campbell family’s proud pastoral history dates back to 1860. In 1960 Bruce and Marie Campbell, with over a hundred years of family experience on the land behind them, and heirs to this invaluable pastoral heritage, created B.E. Campbell.
To celebrate 40 years of Bruce and Marie’s original dream, and in keeping with their legacy of delivering only the best quality product to market, we are proud to introduce our “Bruemar” range of premium pork products.
Bruemar’s premium pork is sourced from a select group of Australian family owned farms. These farms are managed by families such as; the Walker family from Young in NSW, the Hill family in QLD, and the Baks from SA to name a few - who pride themselves on best breeding practices and product quality control.
